Carennac
Your navigation will take you to Carennac, a village classified as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France. Let yourself be charmed by its houses with slate roofs, its flower-filled lanes and its 12th-century abbey church.
Carennac is a medieval jewel of timeless beauty. Its stone houses, picturesque streets and peaceful atmosphere captivate the soul and transport us back to the rural France of yesteryear. Stroll along the river, soak up the history of its thousand-year-old abbey and let yourself be enchanted by Carennac's unchanging charm.
Meyronne
The canoe trip from Carennac to Meyronne is a picturesque 21-kilometer journey on the Dordogne River, offering rolling landscapes, impressive limestone cliffs and charming medieval villages.
Allow around 4 to 5 hours for the trip and all possible stops. Difficulty is considered easy to moderate, suitable for most beginner to intermediate paddlers.
Renowned for its serene atmosphere and breathtaking panoramas, Meyronne is a popular destination for nature lovers and history buffs alike. Stroll through the picturesque streets of its historic center, visit its 12th-century Romanesque church and let yourself be enchanted by the timeless magic of the Dordogne.
Souillac
Allow around 3 to 4 hours' sailing to get the most out of the trip and the possible breaks. The difficulty is considered easy, accessible to all levels of paddlers, including families with children.
Set off from Meyronne, steeped in its picturesque charm, and let yourself be carried away by the tranquil waters of the river. Along the way, you'll be captivated by the craggy cliffs, verdant vineyards and medieval villages that line the shores. Arriving in Souillac, a town steeped in history, you can explore its cobbled streets, visit its thousand-year-old abbey and enjoy its lively atmosphere. This canoe trip offers total immersion in the natural and cultural beauty of the Dordogne valley, promising unforgettable memories in the heart of Périgord Noir. Carsac
Allow around 5 hours' sailing to get the most out of the trip and the possible breaks. The difficulty is considered easy, accessible to all levels of paddlers, including families with children.
Paddling from Souillac to Carsac, you'll be amazed by the natural landscapes of the Dordogne. The river offers some nice challenges with a few fast sections. Look up and enjoy the holm oak hills and limestone cliffs.
Beynac
Between Vitrac and Beynac, you enter the history of the Dordogne. Your journey will be punctuated by Châteaux retracing the history of France. Medieval stone villages, perched castles overlooking the river and towering limestone cliffs, your last day offers all that the Dordogne has to offer!
